Aside from all the features mentioned above, Spotify recently added a new feature to the app called “Eat This Playlist”. The new feature is a game that is similar to Nokia’s snake game. It comes as a huge surprise to users as Spotify has to pay attention to music and podcasts as a streaming service platform.
The game has a similar concept to the snake game from Nokia. However, the difference here is that users eat playlists.
In the popular snake game on Nokia, players have to guide the snake around without colliding with the borders or allowing the snake to eat its own body. Players lose the game if they touch the borders. Moreover, the snake reduces in size if it eats a part of the snake. The players then have to eat the surrounding food to increase the snake’s size again.
On Spotify, the user is a character, which eats playlists instead of eating fruit or cake to increase in size. The main object of the game is to consume as many playlists as possible, similar to the snake game. The rules on the Spotify are the same too. Players lose if they touch the border, and shrink in size if they touch the body of the character.
