It is confirmed that esports will be introduced at the 2023 Asian Games and consist of seven different events including popular games like Arena of Valor and Dota. Ahead of this eagerly awaited event in Hangzhou, India has announced their esports squad including Dota 2 veterans like Ketan Goyal and Shubham Goli.

2023 Asian Games esports events, Indian squad, & players
Arena of Valor, Dota 2, Dream Three Kingdoms 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends, PUBG Mobile, & Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be the seven distinct esports events at the 2023 Asian Games. However, Indian participants will compete in only four of these events including Dota 2, FIFA Online 4, League of Legends, & Street Fighter V: Champion Edition. Indian stars Shikhar Choudhary and Karthik Varma were set to participate in Hearthstone competition as well, but the event was dropped from the Asian Games esports agenda in March.
While Dream Three Kingdoms 2 is unavailable in India, Arena of Valor and PUBG Mobile are both outlawed in the nation. In Birmingham last year, the Indian Dota 2 team took home the bronze medal at the Commonwealth Esports Championship 2022. According to the official schedule of the 2023 Asian Games, this event will run from 23rd September through 8th October.

DOTA 2: Darshan, Krish, Abhishek Yadav, Ketan Goyal, & Shubham Goli
