One of Doerman’s children, a daughter, managed to escape the horrific scene and informed bystanders of her father’s horrifying intentions. Meanwhile, the mother of the children tried to intervene, sustaining a gunshot wound to her hand in the process. She was later treated for non-life threatening injuries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center.
Chad Doerman’s disturbing admission
Clermont County law enforcement officers arrived at Doerman’s property to find him awaiting their arrival. Doerman complied with the officers’ commands and was taken into custody without further incident. David Gast, the chief prosecutor, described the horrifying scene and the callous cruelty exhibited by Doerman.
“In an act of incomprehensible cruelty, the father that stands before you lined up his three young boys and executed them in his own home with a rifle,” Gast said.
The community reels from the unimaginable tragedy
The people of Clermont County are trying to come to terms with the terrible things that happened and the violence they could never have imagined. The names of the young people who died have not been made public yet. Also Gast talked about how badly Chad Doerman hurt people and how hard it is for the community to deal with the sadness of what happened.
“The trauma that this man has inflicted on his family, community, law enforcement, first responders, and all the rest of us is unspeakable,” Gast stated, “The evil horror of what we know is impossible to process.”
Chad Doerman remains under police custody. His bail has been set at a staggering $20 million. As the case continues to unfold, the motive behind the horrific murders remains unknown.
