During a parade and demonstration to commemorate the Denver Nuggets’ first NBA title, a firetruck injured a police officer. At the intersection of West 13th Avenue and Cherokee Street, which was the final stop on the championship parade route, Denver SWAT Sgt. Justin Dodge was struck by a fire vehicle carrying a number of Nugget players. He was hurt, and his lower leg was hurt.

The Denver Police Department tweeted on Thursday afternoon that the man was hurt in the lower leg and was in a severe but stable condition. According to the Denver Police Department, the officer is in “serious and stable condition.” Dodge may now lose his leg because of the severity of his wounds.

Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets were on the truck, along with the Larry O’Brien Championship Medal. The cop was attempting to protect event attendees who had moved in front of the fire truck, but he ended up with the worst of it. The officer “had to kind of step closer to the vehicle and the fire truck began to roll up the back of his left leg, trapping him underneath the vehicle,” Denver Police Chief Ron Thomas told reporters during a press conference. Apparently, Natalija Jokic was smacked in the face by a beer bottle that came from the crowd. She is swiftly attended to by Nikola Jokic in the background. Evidently, there was no malice behind the flying can since it has become increasingly common to toss beers to players during victory parades.
In Game 5 against the Miami Heat, the standout player for the Denver Nuggets averaged 30.2 points, 14.0 rebounds, 7.2 assists, and 1.4 blocks while shooting 58.3% from the field and 42.1% from 3-point range, earning him undisputed MVP honours. The victory completed the star player for the Denver Nuggets’ historic postseason journey.
