The 30-year-old striker was allegedly formally offered a two-year contract worth a whopping $54 million.

The Belgian star is on loan from Chelsea to Inter Milan currently, and his loan tenure ended as the season is officially over. But now, a rumour is circulating that the officials of Al-Hilal and Lukaku met in a hotel in Paris to discuss the prospective transfer. The striker is still holding out for a potential new contract with Inter Milan despite the enormous compensation on offer. He will, however, face Cristiano Ronaldo of Al-Nassr if he accepts the transfer to Al Hilal.

Lukaku’s European journey seems to be in danger.

The 30-year-old, who was on loan with the Nerazzurri when he made it to the Champions League Final, is at a turning point in his career. He has stated that he intends to stay at San Siro despite the €113 million transfer to Stamford Bridge in 2021, even though his contract with Chelsea expires in June 2026.

This week, Inter representatives are expected in London to discuss a £50 million transfer for Cameroon custodian André Onana and a potential loan agreement for Lukaku. Inter paid €10 million for the one-season contract, but it is unable to afford to buy him back. Instead, it is attempting to arrange a fresh loan.

Lukaku had a terrible Champions League final.

Romelu Lukaku greatly aided Inter last year. However, his poor performance in the UEFA Champions League final on the largest club platform has given him and Inter supporters nightmares. Due to the increasing synergy between Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko, Lukaku started 2023 final against Manchester City from the bench. Dzeko, though, had little effect on the outcome of the match and was replaced by Lukaku in the 55th minute.

When Federico Dimarco’s diving header was denied by the Belgian on the goal line in the 70th minute, Inter came dangerously close to tying the score. Around 15 minutes later, Lukaku would have another chance to prove himself, as he found a header directly in front of City’s goal. Nevertheless, he threw it right at Ederson, who made an incredible save. A strike to either side would have been impossible for the Manchester City custodian to save, but with the header coming directly at him, he made an incredible save.
