The original animation project Ayaka A Story of Bonds and Wounds was created as a result of a partnership between the GoRA literary group and King Records with the release date now out

The seven-person writing team known only as GoRA is behind the original concept and script for the K Project anime alongside GoHands Studios, as well as the accompanying manga and offshoot films.

Ayaka: A Story of Bonds and Wounds anime episode 1 is all set to release on July 1, 2023, globally. The official Ayaka website has been updated with a new teaser, promotional image, and information about the voice cast. Both the opening song “Ayakashi,” sung by Angela, and the closing song “Flashback,” performed by Saji, are sampled in the video in question.

The protagonist, Yukito Yanagi, is an orphan who meets a strange student of his late father and is taken to Ayakajima, the island where Yukito was born and which is said to be home to seven islands inhabited by dragons. After meeting his father’s other two students, the protagonist learns that Ayakajima’s tranquility and stability are in jeopardy.

The series will be directed by Nobuyoshi Nagayama (of Renai Flops and Uramichi Onii-san fame), in association with Studio Blanc. As has been previously reported, GoRA will be writing the script. The character designs will be handled by Redjuice (Beatless, Guilty Crown), while Misaki Kaneko (Smile Down the Runway) will be in charge of the animation. The music was composed by Kana Shibue and produced by King Records.
