Gurgaon police arrested a woman named Binita Kumari and her accomplice Mahesh Phogat, after the two were caught extorting money from a man and leveling fake allegations of molestation against him
According to reports, Binita met the man through a popular dating app named Bumble.

Binita Kumari is reportedly an employee at an IT firm and originally hails from the state of Bihar.
What Happened?
The incident took place on May 28, after Binita Kumari, first met the victim on the dating app Bumble. After meeting each other, she took the victim to a hotel in Sector 23 area, where she forced him to drink beer. However, the man sense that something was off and refused to drink.
However, Binita then called him up afterwards and accused him of misbehaving and molesting her. She also threatened him that she would call the police and lodge a complaint. Binita’s accomplice, Mahesh Phogat, then proceeded to call up the victim and demanded ₹5 lakh to settle the case. The victim tried to negotiate and settled the amount at ₹2 lakh. The victim however, paid them only ₹50,000 and promised to pay the rest later. However, he went straight to the police to ask for help.
What Did the Police Do?
Upon receiving the complaint, the police laid a trap to catch Binita and Mahesh. Following the instructions of the police, the victim called Binita to receive the rest of the money at Maulsari Market, located near Sai Temple. Mahesh, who came to receive the money was caught red-handed by the police while receiving the money.
The police then arrested Binita around U block in DLF-3. Following the arrest, police recovered the ₹50,000 that the victim had paid along with two mobile phones from the duo. Binita and Mahesh were then produced in a city court and have been sent to judicial custody.
Upon further investigations, the police found out that Binita and Mahesh had duped 12 other people in a similar way. They had also previously made false allegations of molestation against five other people. Police have registered an FIR against the duo at Gurugram’s DLF Phase 2 police station.
