What Exactly Happened in KamiKatsu – Working for God in a Godless World Episode 8
In the eighth episode of KamiKatsu – Working for God in a Godless World, Dakini laid out her original duties as an Archon. In essence, she eradicated the human capacity for and motivation for romantic attachment and procreation, ensuring that subsequent generations would be biologically sterile.
Dakini, however, eventually encountered a girl named Toka who had managed to overcome this evolutionary setback. Toka was sent to an isolated community, where she gave birth and was subsequently murdered by her terrified neighbors.
To recap, Atar rescued Yukito and company from certain death, and then Mitama and Riche went their separate ways. It was here that the identity of Toka, Riche’s mother, was finally revealed, and where Atar began fighting Dakini until the latter utilized her powers to subdue them with the power of “love.”
Fortunately, Mitama returned in time, having gained the assistance of the true god Dakini to neutralize the Archon Dakini’s abilities. This made it easy for Atar and Mitama to gain the upper hand, and with Roy’s assistance, they were able to defeat her. At the show’s conclusion, Riche admitted that she was indeed Toka’s offspring. Dakini, meanwhile, grieved for Toka as she recognized her part in shaping the universe.
