Brentford FC of the premier league has suffered a huge setback as their first choice goalkeeper David Raya suffered a knee injury recently. The club later confirmed the news of his injury and also stated the expected time that he his going to take to return from his injury. During Brentford’s game against Leicester City this past week their goalkeeper David Raya was hurt in a collision with the opposition’s attacker Ayoze Perez. The collision was very impactful but Raya got up bravely and made the save, however, he was injured heavily in the process. A club statement later revealed that the goalkeeper will be out for four to five months due to his injury.

This is a huge blow to the newly promoted club and the 24 year old Spanish goalkeeper has been a vital part of the team. Raya has also been the first choice goalkeeper of Brentford since joining the team back in 2019. The medical head of the team reported that Raya has started use a leg brace that has been designed to help him aid. It is reported that he is not expected to undergo surgery and will heal within almost four to five months of rehab.

The club will hope to have him back as soon as possible within the expected time frame. He has been vital in the club’s triumph last season which saw them being promoted to the premier league this year. Raya would also be hopeful of returning to his usual high level performances after recovering from his injury owing to how integral a name he is for the side.
