Following an overwhelming 4-1 (11-4, 11-5, 11-8, 5-11, 11-8) victory over Japanese ace Hina Hayata, top-ranked Sun Yingsha has qualified for the Women’s Singles final at the 2023 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals. It is confirmed that Sun Yingsha will clash against compatriot Chen Meng in the final.

Following his 4-2 (11-5, 7-11, 12-10, 11-7, 8-11, 11-8) victory over Liang Jingkun in the 2023 ITTF World Table Tennis Championships Finals, top-seed Fan Zhendong has qualified for the Men’s Singles final, where he will defend his title against second-seed Wang Chuqin. With a 4-1 (11-9, 11-8, 11-3, 6-11, 11-7) victory over three-time champion Ma Long, Wang Chuqin has qualified for the Men’s Singles final. Wang will enter his first World Championships final as a result, and Ma suffered his first loss at the competition since 2013.
Meanwhile, the Women’s Doubles competition at this tournament was won by Chen Meng & Wang Yidi. In their victory over Jeon Jihee & Shin Yubin, the Chinese duo posted an astounding 3-0 (11-8, 11-7, 12-10) score-line to win the gold. Fan Zhendong & Wang Chuqin have won the coveted Iran Cup Men’s Doubles trophy as the Chinese pair overcame a slow start to defeat Jang Woojin & Lim Jonghoon by score of 3-0 (13-11, 11-6, 11-5).
