The 2023 French Open is about to start soon this month and ahead of it, having a look at top heavy favourites in men’s singles, know the predictions and odds
The second Grand Slam of the year is soon to start. Based on how players have performed thus far during the clay swing, a few favourites have emerged for the title.
French Open tennis 2023 men’s singles predictions, odds and favorites rankings
Novak Djokovic, a 22-time Major champion, is the betting favourite in the men’s division, followed by Carlos Alcaraz, which is not a surprise in the absence of Rafael Nadal.
The clear favourite to win the title, Nadal, just revealed his decision to leave the tournament and not play this year. At this point, he won’t be attending the Roland Garros tournament for the first time since 2004.
Let us have a look at the top favourites to win at this year’s major on clay court, below:
1- Carlos Alcaraz
According to the betting website BetMGM, Carlos Alcaraz has favourable odds of +130, which implies a $100 wager on him will earn $130 if he triumphs. He had won championships in Barcelona and Madrid before the French Open, but he was dramatically eliminated by Fabian Marozsan in the third round of the Italian Open.
2- Novak Djokovic
Djokovic has +200 odds of winning the match. His best result in recent weeks was his performance in the quarterfinals of the Italian Open. Despite some underwhelming early results, the Serb still ranks well enough given his stature.
Expect Djokovic to perform better when he enters Court Philippe-Chatrier because a record-breaking 23rd Major victory is on the line.
3- Holger Rune
With odds of +700 to win the race in Paris, Holger Rune is the third favourite. The 20-year-old won the BMW Open and placed second at the Monte Carlo Masters.
Additionally, Rune is currently playing in the semifinals of the Italian Open but was defeated by Daniil.Medvedev. Given how well he performed during the clay season, it won’t come as a surprise if he wins his maiden Grand Slam victory at the French Open.
4- Stefanos Tsitsipas
Stefanos Tsitsipas, a finalist at the 2021 French Open, has recently displayed consistency in performance. According to BetMGM, he is the fourth favourite with odds of +800.
5- Jannik Sinner
Jannik Sinner, the person after him on the list, has +1100 odds to take home the prize.
Sinner, a two-time runner-up in the Masters 1000 who yearns for his first triumph at the level, will now pursue his first Grand Slam triumph.
