Prior to the new move, Premier League clubs Manchester City and Liverpool were both interested in signing the Borussia Dortmund midfielder.
Popular football journalist Fabrizio Romano shared the news on Wednesday about the negotiations reaching the final stages.
Jude Bellingham new wage at Real Madrid
Real Madrid currently have one of the best list of midfield talents like Eduardo Camavinga, Aurelien Tchouameni, and now Bellingham. The Los Blancos seemed to have found notable replacements for Casemiro, Luka Modric, and Toni Kroos.
And although Bellingham is the latest star to join, Madrid are offering with him a contract which will see him earn a much higher wage than some established stars at the Bernabeu.
According to reports, the 19-year-old starlet will earn a staggering £12 million per year from his new contract. This means Bellingham will earn £1 million per month or roughly around £250,000 a week.
This puts him in front of Brazilian trio Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, and Eder Militao. Vinicius Jr. currently earns about £49,000-a-week less than what Bellingham will earn. Meanwhile Militao and Rodrygo are both way behind. Other players like Madrid veterans Dani Carvajal, Nacho Fernandez, French defender Ferland Mendy and midfielder Dani Ceballos all currently earn way less than Bellingham.
Six Madrid players earning more than Bellingham
As of now, there are only six existing players who earn more than Jude Bellingham. Given below are the six players with their weekly wages:
- Eden Hazard £400,000
- David Alaba £400,000
- Toni Kroos £338,000
- Luka Modric £304,000
- Karim Benzema £304,000
- Thibaut Courtois £278,000
Interestingly, the top earning player in the list plays the least amount of games, spending most of his time benched. The Belgium international was one of the best players worldwide with huge potential when at Stamford Bridge for Chelsea when Real Madrid signed him. However, following several injuries and spending four years at the club, Hazard has made just five league appearances this season.
