On December 8th, 1953, Manobala was born in Marungur, which is located in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. He was 1.75m tall. He started his career as an actor and made his debut in the Tamil film industry with Puthiya Vaarpugal in 1978. Manobala has acted in several Tamil films, including Sivappu Sooriyan, Nadigan, Karakattakaran, and many more.
He was known for his comic timing and has also played character roles in several movies.
Manobala’s debut as a director came with the Tamil film Agaya Gangai in 1982. The film was a moderate success at the box office, and Manobala received critical acclaim for his direction. In 1986, he directed a Kannada film, December 31, which also received positive reviews.
Manobala made his Bollywood directorial debut with the film Mera Pati Sirf Mera Hai in 1990. The film starred superstar Rekha and popular actor Jackie Shroff in lead roles. Although the film did not perform well at the box office, Manobala’s direction received appreciation.
