Even though their hearts and brains are different, they share one set of functions. They also have the same leg, so they have to work together to walk or run.
The twins said that they have never tried to separate themselves through surgery because it could kill one or both of them. When they were young, they went to physical therapy to learn how to sit up and move their legs. When they were 4 years old, they took their first steps. Over time, they’ve learned to deal with their situation and have grown into strong, independent young women who are going after their dreams.
Conjoined Twin Carmen’s experience with dating apps and finding love
In the Q&A video, the twins were asked about their dating lives, and they gave some interesting information. Carmen is more open and social. In October 2020, she met her boyfriend Daniel on the dating app Hinge. Lupita, on the other hand, is not interested in having a love relationship because she is as*xual.
Carmen told Today.com, “I never tried to hide the fact that I’m a conjoined twin, which meant I got a lot of messages from guys with fetishes. I knew right off the bat that Daniel was different from the others, because he didn’t lead with a question about my condition. I have social anxiety, and I’ve ended up canceling dates at the last minute, but I felt calm on the way there.”
The twins’ love lives may seem difficult, but they have found ways to make it work. Carmen and Daniel have been together for 2 1/2 years and have talked about getting married. But they first want to live together. Daniel and Lupita get along well, and the three of them hang out together. Carmen and Lupita are good friends, and they try to do things together as much as they can.
Conjoined Twin Carmen balances time with boyfriend and sister
Carmen said, “Sometimes I feel bad because I want to spend so much time with Daniel. So we try to come up with compromises. Like, (Lupita) will choose where we go out to dinner, or what activity we’re going to do. Both Daniel and I love kids, but we don’t want any of our own.”
Many people all over the world have been moved by the twins’ story. They respect their positive attitude and hard work. They’ve had to deal with a lot of problems in their lives, but they’ve never let their situation stop them. People with disabilities look up to them because they show that anything is possible if you have the guts and will to go after your dreams.
