Occupation

Bhupendra Jaiswal is the owner of a small paint and hardware store in Suriyawan, Bhadohi, Uttar Pradesh. Tejasvi is the name of his shop, after his eldest son. He used to play cricket for a few local clubs in Suriyawan and made a name for himself there. However, due to a lack of mentors and poor financial circumstances, his abilities were limited to Bhadohi.

Bhupendra Jaiswal has always encouraged his son’s desire to play cricket. Yashasvi’s father built a small pitch in front of the house and installed lights nearby so that he could practice until late at night. Yashasvi was taken to Mumbai by his father to practice at Azad Maidan when he was nine years old.

Despite Yashasvi’s heroics in the ICC U-19 Cricket World Cup 2020, India still failed to lift the trophy. At the time his father told ANI in an interview, “Yashasvi played well, but I would have been happier if India had won the U19 World Cup. It was an experience. I want him to play better in the future and make the country proud.”

Also, after the Rajasthan Royals purchased Yashasvi in the IPL auctions, Bhupendra stated, “His hard work is paying off.” I’m hoping he does well in the IPL and gets a chance to play for India. “I am overjoyed,” she told ANI. When asked how he feels about the high price his son was purchased for, Bhupendra replied, “It is not about money.” It is about the hard work he has put in. He is making us proud, and I pray to God that he will do well in the upcoming U-19 World Cup and bring home the coveted trophy,” ANI reported.

During his early cricket career, Yashasvi used to sell panipuri to make ends meet. After three years of living in tents, Jaiswal’s cricketing talent was discovered in December 2013 by Jwala Singh, who ran a cricket academy in Santacruz. Singh took Jaiswal under his wing and housed him before becoming his legal guardian and obtaining his power of attorney.
