A medical adversity was potentially averted during Newcastle United vs Tottenham with some quick thinking from the players ensuring a supporter in the stands received timely medical treatment.
Fan Collapses As Newcastle United vs Tottenham Is Suspended
The 41st minute of the Premier League encounter on Sunday saw Sergio Reguilon approach referee Andre Mariner to inform him of a fan suffering a potential heart attack in the stands. As news of what was transpiring broke out amongst the players, Eric Dier was seen approaching the technical area with him motioning for the medical team to instantly bring a deliberator.
The Newcastle United medical team rushed across the pitch to hand the stewards the deliberator with the fan in question receiving treatment in the stands. Both the set of players were asked to vacate the pitch as security and referees conferred and decided it was prudent to bring a halt to proceedings on the day.
The fan was eventually brought out of danger before being taken to the hospital. While there is no information on his current health, he is said to have been stable when taken away from St. James’ Park.
The clash subsequently resumed shortly after 5:30pm with both the sides level at 1-1. Newcastle United had taken the lead through striker Callum Wilson in the presence of their owners before Tottenham managed to restore parity on the night.
The club is set to undergo a massive upheaval owing to the behemoth cash influx set to come in after Mike Ashley finally sold the Premier League side.
