Desislava Bozhilova has already demonstrated her no-nonsense approach to snooker, and she has been tasked with maintaining order at The Crucible once more, know her partner, age and height
Desislava, who was born in Bulgaria in 1992, fell in love with snooker when she was 13 years old. Despite never making it as a professional, she applied to the Bulgarian Snooker Referees Association while studying in Sofia, Bulgaria.

Desislavaโs first match as an official was in 2012, and she considers it a career highlight. However, over the last decade, the Bulgarian has carved out a no-nonsense reputation, even reprimanding BBC commentators when they became too loud.
A knocking sound could be heard off camera during the World Championships in 2022, when Desislava was officiating Judd Trump and Mark Williamsโ semi-final match. โJust a little noise coming from the studio of the host broadcaster,โ Eurosport commentators joked.
โDesislava banged on the window and told them to keep quiet. Thatโs the way to do it.โ
Fans did, however, get to see a lighter side of Desislava that day, when Williams purposefully dropped his cue to distract the Bulgarian when she rearranged the balls. Causing her to try and fail to suppress her laughter.
Desislava has been credited with breaking down barriers throughout her career, and in 2019 she stated, โEveryone goes to Q schools and tournaments to qualify for professional tournaments.โ So, if youโre good enough, it doesnโt matter whether youโre a man or a woman!”
She has officiated ranking event finals and served as a referee at the World Snooker Championship since passing the exam to become an international snooker referee. At the 2022 Masters, she refereed her first Triple Crown final. The 2022 UK Championship marked her second Triple Crown final as a referee.
Bozhilova was born and raised in Sliven, Bulgaria, a city with a low snooker population. Bozhilova began playing pool at the age of 13 before becoming interested in snooker after watching it on television.
In 2012, she moved to Sofia, Bulgariaโs capital. Bozhilova graduated from the University of Forestry in Sofia in 2016 with a Masterโs degree in Landscape Architecture. The height of the 30 year old isn’t known.
Her partners name is Proletina V and the couple has been dating for at least six years.
