Bester’s accomplice and girlfriend, Nandipha Magudumana, appeared in the same court on Thursday after the duo was deported from Tanzania while on run. Bester was remanded in custody and he would return to court in May.
Nandipha Magudumana career, family, and education
34 year old Nandipha Magudumana is a South African doctor, surgeon, and also entrepreneur. Nandipha is the founder and CEO of Optimum Medical Aesthetics. Nandipha hails from Eastern Cape, and she was raised by her mother in Port Edward, KwaZulu-Natal.
In court papers, Dr Nandi Mogudumana claimed to be the customary wife of Thabo Bester and she approached the Pretoria high court after the police confiscated the body believed to be Bester’s after the prison fire. Dr Nandi had claimed the body after the fire but it was confiscated by police for further investigations.
She finished her studies at the Port Edward Primary School and further attended the Port Shepstone High School. Nandipha enrolled herself in medicine at the University of Witwatersrand. Nandipha earned a Bachelor of Health Sciences degree (BHSc) in the Biomedical Sciences and a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB).
Nandiphaallegedly dumped her two kids just to be with Bester. It has been reported that she helped him to run away from the Mangaung Maximum Security Prison in May 2022 by changing his body from the body of a dead person.
Magudumana had two kids from her earlier marriage to Dr. Mkhuseli Magudumana, who is a pediatrician based in Johannesburg’s East Rand. She later was forced to dump her kids during a spirited and chaotic run away from their mansion. The South African Crime Intelligence officials have traced the Bester last week. He was apprehended in Arusha with Magudumana. They also had a Mozambican national who was guiding them.
She met Bester in early 2006, while Nandipha was studying at Wits. Bester was the owner of the model agency and she worked for him as a promo girl. In late 2017, evidence was found of her visiting him in prison. She further declared her engagement with Bester in 2020, even though Nandipha was still married to her former husband Mkhuseli.
Her license of practice being a doctor was suspended in 2021 when she failed to pay her annual fees. According to her IG, she has been named Mail&Guardian 200 Young South Africans, SADC Top 100 Young Leaders in 2018, and Top 20 Most Influential Young South Africans in 2018.
