The Grand National is one of the most popular and highly regarded events in the British sporting world and brings in lots of interest from the UK and across the world.
The race takes place at the iconic Aintree racecourse, located in Liverpool. It is run over an official distance of four miles and two and a half furlongs. Each of the horses jump 30 fences over two laps.
2023 Grand National date and time
The 2023 Grand National will take place on Saturday April 15 with the race starting at around 5:15pm BST. Earlier, the Grand National was run earlier on in the afternoon, but it was moved back to a later start time back in 2016. It The upcoming race marks the sixth race on the card on the third day of the Grand National meeting. The event will begin on Saturday at 1:45pm with the Maghull Novices’ Chase.

ITV1 will provide the live broadcast of the Grand National 2023. Fans can also view the live streaming of the Grand National on ITVX. Aside from watching the race live, fans can also listen to the Grand National on BBC Radio 5 Live. Interested fans can also find the live updates of the BBC radio commentary via the BBC Sports website.
Alongside the above stated platforms, William Hill newspaper will provide a free bet to place in-shop every day of the festival. Moreover, Thursday and Friday’s papers will have a 12 page pullout, while Grand National Saturday will contain 16-pages of special content.
