At the Prem Nagar police station, a case has been launched against comedian and blogger Yash Rathi for making offensive comments about Lord Shree Ram. He is said to have said offensive things about Lord Shree Ram during a gathering held at Sheela Farm in Nanda Ki Chowki. Following their demonstration at the farm, officers and staff from numerous political and religious organisations filed a complaint at the Prem Nagar police station in opposition to this.
“When Jesus tried to walk on water for the first time, he drowned,” Rathi is heard adding. “Jesus’ buddy dragged him out of the water and questioned him about his excessive self-assurance. If he couldn’t walk on water, why didn’t he learn to swim? I made a tiny error, I failed to write Ram on my chappal, Jesus says in response.”
In the video attached below, Rathi may be heard saying this at the 30-second mark.
What was the complaint?
The police were informed by Sagar Jaiswal, head of the complaint organisation Bhairav Vahini, that a “Youth for You” programme was held at Sheela Farm, Nanda Ki Chowki, on April 8. A supposed comedian named Yash Rathi made offensive comments against Lord Ram throughout the programme. On social media, a video of Rathi making the crude joke has gone viral.
Jaiswal claims that this has harmed the religious feelings of the Hindu community. After meeting with SSI Praveen Pundir at the Prem Nagar police station on Monday to urge the filing of a complaint against the accused, representatives of several Hindu organisations, a case was eventually filed against Rathi for harming religious feelings. What do you think of the video?
