Beom knows from his time as Alliance Leader that the two men are exceptionally gifted and can assist him in turning the battle against Ximens in their favor. Beom makes a peace offering to Beggar Sect members Xi Oongye and Ahn Angye. Beom even invites them to a drink at the Heavenly Grand Archive.

Beom Hang is getting ready to travel to the Ximen territory for their banquet. Beom’s siblings are concerned that Ximen will harm Beom Hang if he leaves. Beom consoles his brothers before departing for the banquet with his party. The brothers reveal that Ju Yang, Beom’s only friend, intends to surprise him by paying him a visit soon. On Ju Yang’s request, they decide to keep this information from Beom.
Beom Hang arrives at Ximen’s residence for the banquet. The young master of the Ximen Clan, Ximen Oong, is shown plotting his master plan for the destruction of the Heavenly Grand Archive. Ximen Oong also enjoys fantasizing about ruining his own younger brother, who is clearly a sadist. Beom meets with various leaders gathered at the banquet just as Ximen arrives and begins the banquet.
