India have decided against sending the hockey team to partake in the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games in lieu of the stringent COVID-19 norms in the UK
Gone are the days when India bows down infront of Western aggressiveness in a bid to please the slaves of colonial mentality in the country.
The incumbent government in India has responded strongly and rightfully so to any strongarm tactics by Western countries. A perfect testament to this is paid by the reciprocal steps being taken by India in response to the UK’s discriminatory COVID-19 policy regarding India and Indian vaccines.
Despite currently reeling under a horrendous fresh wave of COVID-19, the UK has been extremely eager to clampdown on other countries. A slew of left inclined media outlets in the country have berated and besmirched lands with lesser resources despite the UK itself failing shambolically in either curbing the spread of COVID-19 or increasing the rate of vaccination.
India Withdraws From The Hockey Event At The 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth Games
After announcing that all UK nationals coming into India will be required to quarantine for a mandatory period of 10 days, Team India has now pulled out of the hockey event at the forthcoming Birmingham Commonwealth Games 2020. The current COVID crisis in the country paired with the UK government’s mandatory 10 day quarantine rule and Boris Johnson’s government policy of considering Indians unvaccinated even if they had gotten the double dose has seen Indian hockey take this step.
England’s decision to withdraw from this year’s FIH Junior World Cup in Bhubaneshwar citing the 10 day quarantine rule imposed by India is also said to have weighed in on India’s decision to withdraw from the CWG in UK next year.
England Hockey has informed the FIH of its decision to unfortunately withdraw from the upcoming Men’s Junior World Cup
With a number of COVID-related concerns & player + staff wellbeing in mind, it's untenable for the team to participate
