Know who is Reid Wiseman one of the astronauts of the NASA Artemis 2 mission and who is his wife
NASA picked up four astronauts who will go into lunar orbit and come back with Artemis 2 mission. This is NASA’s first crewed voyage around the moon in over 50 years, After the Apollo program. Reid Wiseman is a part of this mission.

The Artemis 2 crew includes Commander Reid Wiseman, pilot Victor Glover and mission specialists Christina Koch and Jeremy Hansen. Jeremy Hansen is a well-known astronaut who hails from Canadian Space Agency (CSA). He flies under an agreement between the United States and Canada. He will be one of the first non-American to leave Earth’s orbit and fly to the moon.
This declaration was made on Monday in a ceremony that was held at the Ellington Field, situated near Johnson Space Center based in Houston, Texas. As per Wiseman, three words sum up the announcement of the Artemis 2 crew – “We are going!”
Reid Wiseman education, family and education
Reid Wiseman whose full name is Gregory Reid Wiseman is an astronaut, an engineer, and also a naval aviator. Reid will be the commander of the Artemis 2 mission. Earlier, he lived and also worked on the International Space Station in early 2014.
Before that, he was a part of mission undersea research NEEMO21, which was a 16-day underwear mission that boosted space exploration. Until the 14th of November 2022, Reid served to be the Chief of the Astronaut Office.
Reid was born on the 11th of November 1975, and he hails from Baltimore, Maryland. Reid completed his graduation at Dulaney High School, in Timonium.
He further finished his studies in engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He attended John Hopkins University for his master’s in 2006. Reid was born to his mother, Judy who unfortunately died while his father’s name is Bill.
Reid got married to Carroll Taylor and they have two daughters. His wife unluckily died at the age of 46 in May of 2017 due to cancer. Carrol battled with cancer for 5 years.
In 2009, Reid got selected among the nine members of the 20th NASA astronaut class. He reported to Johnson Space Center and Reid finished his astronaut training in 2011.
