The Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) with the support of the state government established the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in 2003.

The Hyderabad Rajiv Gandhi International stadium is situated on the eastern suburb of Uppal, Hyderabad. The stadium is also famously known as the Hyderabad Cricket Stadium.

Throughout the years, it has served as the home venue to Hyderabad state teams and the Indian cricket team. And since 2008, it has served as the home to the Hyderabad-based Indian Premier League (IPL) franchises – Deccan Chargers and now Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH are set to return to their home ground for the first time since 2019.

With the Indian summer well underway the weather during the days are very hot and humid. Temperature could rise up to between 34°C to 41°C in April. However, it will slightly dip in the nights with temperatures reducing to as low as 23°C to 28°C. The month of May will also follow a similar pattern to April. Summer rains are also expected based on the weather forecast.
