The Singapore Sports Hub OCBC Square will host the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2023 basketball men’s and women’s competitions starting from March 29 to April 2.

This year, the tournament will feature a total of 12 teams, divided into four groups. Each team will compete against each other in the main draw, following which the top two teams will qualify for the quarter-finals.

So far, the reigning champions Australia, are the most successful nation in the men’s FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup. Team Australia have won three titles and are placed in pool B alongside Japan in the upcoming 2023 edition.

FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2023 team India preview

The Indian men’s 3×3 basketball team are currently ranked world No. 49 and are placed in pool C. They are currently placed alongside world No. 16 China in the same group. Meanwhile, the winning team of the qualifying draw C will join the two nations in pool C.

As things stand, the teams which are competing for the qualification for pool C include:

• Samoa (world No. 118)
• Kazakhstan (world No. 54)
• Thailand (world No. 21)
• New Caledonia (world No. 113)

So far, the men’s Indian basketball team have never won the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup. Meanwhile, the Indian women’s 3×3 basketball team have however won the cup during its inaugural edition in 2013.

The Indian women’s 3×3 basketball team are currently ranked No. 60 in the world. They will start from the qualifier rounds at the FIBA 3×3 Asia Cup 2023. They will compete against the following countries in the qualifying draw A:

• New Zealand (world No. 42)
• Sri Lanka (world No. 68)
• Hong Kong (world No. 112)
• Tahiti (world No. 162)

The winner of the qualifying draw A will join pool C alongside Mongolia and Malaysia. Notably, the Indian women’s team failed to make the main draw in the last edition.
