Abdullah Shafique, a young Pakistani cricketer, had a rough start to his T20I series against Afghanistan on Sunday in Sharjah as he became the first batsman ever to score four consecutive ducks in T20I cricket and made history for all the wrong reasons.
He was out for a golden duck in the very first ball of his inning when he was trapped LBW by Fazalhaq Farooqui. Despite reviewing the decision, the ball was confirmed to be hitting the stumps, and Shafique had to walk back without scoring a single run.

Who is Abdullah Shafique?
Abdullah Shafique is a Pakistani cricketer. He has been in the news because he recently scored four consecutive ducks in the T20I series against Afghanistan.
He was born on November 20, 1999, in Sialkot, Punjab, Pakistan. He is from the Gujjar community. His father’s name is Shafiq Ahmed, who was a former professional cricketer and is now a cricket coach.
His height is 5 feet 10 inches, or 178 cm. He is currently 23 years old.
His career
Abdullah Shafique started his career after he was selected by the Multan Sultans for the 2018 Pakistan Super League, although he didn’t get a chance to play. In December 2019, he made his first-class debut for Central Punjab in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy.
He was named in Pakistan’s probable squad for their series against Zimbabwe and subsequently made his T20I debut. He continued to impress and earned a place in the squads for Pakistan’s tours of New Zealand and South Africa.
In 2021, Abdullah Shafique made his Test debut against Bangladesh and scored his maiden Test century in the series against Australia. He was named in the ODI squads for the tours of Australia and the West Indies and later played a crucial inning of 160* in the first Test against Sri Lanka which is his highest score in test cricket.
He made his ODI debut against the Netherlands and scored his third Test century against England in December 2022. He wears the number 57 jersey.
