Who is Eric Montross?

Eric Montross is a well-known former American basketball player. He has been in the news because his family recently announced that he has been diagnosed with cancer.

On September 23, 1971, he was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, in the United States. He did his schooling at Lawrence North High School. Later, he attended the University of North Carolina.

Eric Montross had a successful basketball career both in high school and college. He played for Lawrence North High School and later committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels. In 1994, he was selected by the Boston Celtics as the ninth overall pick in the NBA draft.

During his first year in the NBA, he averaged 10 points per game and was selected to the 1995 Rookie All-Star Game and named to the NBA All-Rookie Second Team.
