Ankur Warikoo was born in New Delhi on August 25, 1980, to Kashmiri Pandit parents from Srinagar. Warikoo graduated from Hindu College in Delhi with a bachelor’s degree in physics. Indian School of Business awarded him an MBA. He enrolled at Michigan State University for a PhD in astrophysics but later dropped out.
Warikoo began his career in 2008 by co-founding his first startup, Accentium Web, which ran websites such as Gaadi.com and Secondshaadi.com.

He was appointed CEO of Groupon India in 2011. He was appointed CEO of Nearbuy.com in 2015. In 2019, he resigned from Nearbuy.com. He released his first book, Do Epic Shit, in 2021.
