The IPL 2023 will kick-start in less than two weeks and some franchises already have injured players and players with fitness concerns in their squads, check out he full list and injury replacement

Following injury concerns, some players have already been ruled out of the upcoming 16th IPL 2023 even before its official start.

Following the injuries, and fitness concerns, some franchises have already announced replacements for the IPL 2023 while others are still yet to announce.

IPL 2023 injured players’ status and replacements

Let us check out the injury status of each injured player ahead of the IPL 2023, and their replacements:

RCB

RCB are the only franchise who have so far announced a replacement for their injured players. Recently, England’s INR 3.2 crore player Will Jacks suffered an injury during the Bangladesh tour. Following the injury, RCB have replaced Jacks with New Zealand all-rounder Michael Bracewell.

Rajasthan Royals

The Rajasthan Royals ruled out fast bowler Prasidh Krishna of IPL 2023 following a stress fracture injury. RR have not yet finalized his replacement.

Mumbai Indians

MI are facing a two major blows to their team after fast bowlers Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson both got ruled out from injuries. Bumrah will be out of action for quite some time due to a recurrent back injury. Meanwhile Richardson suffered a hamstring injury in the BBL.

Delhi Capitals

Similar to MI, DC are affected by several injuries after losing out on Rishabh Pant. Pant suffered torn knees from a car accident back in December. Moreover, the fitness level of fast bowler Anrich Nortje and keeper-batter Sarfaraz Khan are currently under doubt.

Nortje recently missed out on the second Test match against West Indies due to “mild groin discomfort,”. However, recent updates on his injury reveal that he could be forced out to miss initial matches for DC. Meanwhile Sarfaraz, sustained a finger injury and could possibly miss some matches.

As of now, DC are still yet to announce a replacement for Pant, they have however, confirmed that Warner will be their skipper for IPL 2023.

Chennai Super Kings

CSK’s Kyle Jamieson, whom the franchise bought for 1 crore is out for the tournament following a back stress fracture. The team are still yet to announce his replacement as of now. As for their 16.5 crore signing, Ben Stokes, he has confirmed his participation in the IPL 2023 despite a recent knee injury.

Kolkata Knight Riders

KKR are currently in trouble as their captain, Shreyas Iyer’s fitness remains under doubt. Shreyas recently missed the 4th Test vs Australia and the following ODI series following a back injury. KKR have so far not announced any update on Iyer’s fitness or availability.

Punjab Kings

PBKS are suffering a major blow with the ruling out of Jonny Bairstow from the IPL 2023. Bairstow suffered a leg injury, back in September on a golf course, and it is currently taking longer than expected time to heal.

The Punjab-based franchise are still awaiting a medical clearance from ECB on Bairstow. The ECB could force Bairstow to pull out of the IPL 2023 with the important Ashes series lined up right after the IPL.
