Rupi Kaur’s family and education
Rupi hails from Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India. Rupi’s height is about 158cm and her weight is approximately 55 kg as of 2023. She completed her schooling at Turner Fenton Secondary School, Brampton, Ontario, and finished her graduation at the University of Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.
Rupi Kaur follows Sikhism and holds Indian nationality. Rupi has studied rhetoric and writing at the University of Waterloo. She used to take creative-writing classes for high school and college students while she was in college.
At the early age of 22 years, Rupi Kaur employed seven people to aid her, as a part of a company she founded. The names of Rupi’s family members are not known.
Rupi Kaur career
Rupi Kaur was inspired by her mother to draw and paint and she continued her art into her teens, but when she was seventeen, she further shifted to focus on her writing and performing skills.
In late 2009, Rupi Kaur performed for the first time on stage in the basement of the Punjabi Community Health Centre, Malton. Rupi received widespread popularity, after the publication of her debut book Milk and Honey in 2014, which went on to sell more than 3 million copies all across the world.
Rupi’s writings include simple drawings to illustrate her own deep words, which makes it easy for the reader to understand. In early 2017, Rupi Kaur released her second book, The Sun and Her Flowers, leading her to be named on the list of BBC’s 100 Women.
Rupi Kaur’s third poetry collection, Homebody, was released on the 17th of November 2020. The New Republic named Kaur “Writer of the Decade” in 2019. Kaur has massive social media, mainly on her Instagram.
