The film stars Naga Chaitanya Akkineni and Krithi Shetty as the two main leads. Initially, the movie was announced under the name NC22, which happens to be the 22nd film of Naga Chaitanya. Chaitanya was last seen in the Bollywood movie Laal Singh Chaddha.
Meanwhile, Kirthi portrays Chay’s love interest in the movie. This is the second time the two have worked together, following the supernatural action thriller Bangarraju, which was released in Sankranthi 2022 and starred Krithi Shetty as Chay’s love interest.

The action drama movie Custody’s theatrical release is slated for May 12, 2023, and it will be released in two languages: Telugu and Tamil. The teaser for the movie was released on March 16. Whereas, its first power-packed poster look was released on November 23, 2022, on the occasion of Naga Chaitanya’s birthday.
