According to a news report by Forbes, his decision was motivated by his goal of making employment opportunities in the area of rural for promoting more and more knowledge and sharing among his employees.
Sridhar’s contributions to his community have earned him a number of awards, including the Padma Shri award. Also, Vembu received appreciation from PM Narendra Modi.

Zoho’s co-founder Sridhar Vembu recently relocated to a village in Tamil Nadu and filed for divorce from his wife who is Pramila Srinivasan in 2021. Pramila and Sridhar were married for 29 years.
As per sources that are close to Srinivasan, Vembu notified her of his desire for a divorce via WhatsApp in November 2020.
In his divorce case filed in California, Srinivasan accuses Vembu of intentionally disposing of the large portion of his Zoho stake in a complex transaction that has transferred Zoho’s intellectual property to India and it has resulted in the majority of shares being held by his sister and her husband, without informing or seeking consent from Srinivasan.
“My husband with whom I was over 29 years not only abandoned me and his son with special needs in 2020,” Pramila Srinivasan said in a January court filing.
Moreover, Pramila Srinivasan’s lawyer, who is John Farley commented, “the community property law in California does not allow a spouse during marriage to secretly dispose of assets without obtaining the other spouse’s consent.”
Their family was ranked at Number 48 on Forbes’ 2022 list of India’s 100 Richest with Sridhar’s name which has been listed as the founder and the CEO, likely due to his prominence in the company.

This 54-year-old has attended Cluny Convent High School and Rutgers University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and Ph.D. in philosophy from Purdue University.
