Purchase Of Sosyo Hajoori Beverages Pvt Ltd
In January of this year, the fast-moving consumer products division of Reliance Retail, Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL), purchased a 50% share in Gujarat-based Sosyo Hajoori Beverages Pvt Ltd.
Sosyo Hajoori Beverages Pvt. Ltd. produces carbonated soft drinks and juice. Meanwhile, in September last year, they acquired Campa drinks from Pure Drinks Group for Rs. 22 crores. Coca-Cola was originally distributed exclusively by Pure Drinks from 1949 to 1970.
Then they introduced their own brand, Campa Cola, and quickly rose to the top of the market for that particular niche. Campa Cola established two bottling facilities in Mumbai and Delhi and went on to launch the Campa Orange brand. The brand, though, began to fade in the 1990s and was overtaken by fierce foreign rivalries.
Return Of The Great Indian Taste
On March 9, RCPL issued a statement announcing that Campa is “bringing back ‘The Great Indian Taste'”. According to the firm, the Campa line will initially consist of Campa Cola, Campa Lemon, and Campa Orange effervescent beverages.
According to the announcement, the introduction of the Campa portfolio “is in line with the company’s aim to promote homegrown Indian brands that not only boast a rich legacy but also boast a deep connection with Indian customers due to their distinctive tastes and flavours.”
Reliance is sure that both elders and youngsters will value the 50-year-old legacy of the Campa Cola brand.
A 200-ml immediate consumption pack, 500-ml and 600-ml on-the-go sharing packs, 1,000-ml and 2,000-ml home packs, and a 200-ml immediate consumption pack will all be available under the Campa collection. Also, they disclosed that the country will gradually introduce the cold beverage portfolio, starting with Andhra Pradesh and Telangana starting today. The price and buying details are available here.

Campa Cola's relaunch by Reliance (see my comment below) is an exciting prospect from a marketing and advertising point of view! A few questions:
1. Would Reliance advertise all 3 variants (cola, orange, and lime) together to capitalize on the larger 'Campa' brand name? 1/6 pic.twitter.com/gB1qwCakx4— Karthik 🇮🇳 (@beastoftraal) March 10, 2023
