The 2023 Best FIFA Football Awards ceremony was held in Paris on Monday (27 February), honouring the biggest annual awards in the world of football, know the full winners list
Lionel Messi and Alexia Putellas were awarded as the Best Men’s and Best Women’s Players, respectively, for their outstanding performances during the award’s qualifying period.

Messi, who helped lead Argentina to victory in the Qatar 2022 Men’s World Cup, scoring seven goals, won his second FIFA Best award, having last won in 2019. France’s Kylian Mbappe and Karim Benzema were the other two finalists.
Putellas, the Barcelona midfielder, took home her second consecutive Best Women’s Player award. She beat out Olympic champion Alex Morgan and Beth Mead for the honour.

The awards ceremony also recognised the achievements of coaches and goalkeepers. Carlo Ancelotti of Real Madrid, Pia Sundhage of Brazil, and Sarina Wiegman of England were awarded the Best Men’s and Women’s Coach awards, respectively. The Best Men’s and Women’s Goalkeeper awards were presented to Emiliano Martínez of Aston Villa and Ann-Katrin Berger of Chelsea, respectively.
The Puskás Award for the most spectacular goal in 2022 went to Marcin Oleksy of Warta Poznan. Meanwhile, the FIFA Fan Award was won by Abdullah Alsulmi, who is a Saudi Arabian football fan. The award recognises the passion and enthusiasm displayed by football fans around the world. Japanese fans cleaning stadiums and Argentinian fans were also nominated.
The Fair Play Award, which recognises fair play, respect for opponents, and promotion of positive social values, was won by Luka Lochoshvili. The Federation Francaise de Football France U21 and Sadio Mane were also nominated.
