The 20-years old English defender impressed everyone with his spell at Brighton. Moreover, he made his move from Chelsea to Brighton in the winter summer transfer of 2020. In the 2019-20 season, he appeared 8 times in the Premier League for the Albions and assisted one goal.

The 2020-21 season was a game-changer for Lamptey. He showcased his insane sprint abilities and strength in the league. Before getting injured in the match against Fulham, he had 11 appearances in the season. Lamptey scored one goal and one assist last season in the Premier League.

The hamstring injury was said to be a minor one in the initial days. Later on, it was confirmed that it will take some to recover. After being sidelined for almost six months, Lamptey might feature in the upcoming games for Brighton. Brighton’s manager Graham Potter confirmed that Lamptey appeared in an internal 11 vs 11 matches. Potter also said that he did really well and came through fine.

Graham Potter also dropped a hint about his comeback. He said that if everything goes fine, we might see him playing in the Carabao Cup against Swansea on September 22.

Tariq is considered as a bargain for Brighton as Chelsea sold him for just £3.5m. Moreover, many of the big names from different leagues showed interest in buying the youngster. Arsenal, Manchester United, and Bayern Munich were the clubs showing interested in the right back. Tariq’s contract with Brighton is until 2025.
