Snus is a smokeless tobacco drug that purportedly has Scandinavian roots. While taking snus, as the Villa player was doing, the bag of the drug is inserted between the gum and upper lip. It remains there until the effects subside. Snus is available in both portioned and loose forms.

The British striker, Jamie Vardy was seen in a photo from Euro 2016 holding a can of Thunder Ultra. In his autobiography, the striker is cited as saying: “When I joined Leicester, I started taking snus, which are nicotine patches that you lay on your gums for about 10 minutes.”
“I used to smoke the occasional cigarette on a night out at Fleetwood, but when I signed for Leicester, one of the guys introduced me to snus, and I found it helped me relax. Contrary to popular belief, a lot more footballers use them, and some young men even use them while playing matches.”
