She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on April 19, 1986. She was raised in Naperville, Illinois. Her father’s name is Larry Parker and her mother’s name is Natasha Parker. She also has two older brothers; one of them is former NBA basketball player Anthony Parker.

She did her schooling at Naperville Central High School in Naperville, Illinois. Later, she attended the University of Tennessee.

She first married Shelden Williams who is also a basketball player. In 2009, they become parents of a daughter. However, in November 2016, they got divorced. Later, in 2019, she married basketball player Anna Petrakova. Soon, Petrakova gave birth to their son in 2022.

While at the University of Tennessee, Candace Parker played for the Lady Vols basketball team. She led the team to two NCAA championships and was named the Naismith College Player of the Year twice.

In 2008, she was drafted by the Los Angeles Sparks as the first overall pick. In her rookie year, she won the Rookie of the Year award and was also named to the All-WNBA first team.
