Neil Critchley was fired as the manager of QPR after 12 games.

The West London club fired Critchley on Sunday night after he had won only one of his first 12 games. Critchley was hired after Michael Beale went for the Scottish powerhouse Rangers after leaving Aston Villa and Blackpool. In his debut game, his team defeated Preston, but they only managed to earn five of the thirty available points.

The Rs are now in 17th place after a significant decline from a promising start to the second-division campaign. They have now gone ten league games without a victory. The west London team is just eight points above the drop zone as a result.

Who is likely to be the next boss?

The QPR hierarchy will now be under pressure to make sure that this upcoming appointment is made correctly in order to both solidify things going forward and achieve longer-term goals. Given that Neil Critchley was fired after 12 games as manager of QPR, the top candidates for the position have been identified.

The Championship team could look to several managers who are now without jobs, and Nathan Jones should be one of the names that appear very high on their list. The 49-year-old is currently jobless after his most recent Premier League opportunity at Southampton completely failed to go as planned. Yet his work at Luton Town, which transformed the Hatters from a mid-table League Two team to a contender in the Championship, is so commendable.

John Eustace, the manager of Birmingham City, is another top candidate to succeed Neil Critchley at Queens Park Rangers. Sky Bet has listed Eustace and former Blues manager Lee Bowyer as candidates for the QPR position. With QPR, Eustace served as Mark Warburton and Steve McClaren’s assistant in the past. In 2019 he also served as interim manager.
