Adam Cole AEW Wrestler, Salary, Net Worth, Contract And Career
Adam Cole kickstarted his career as a pro-wrestler in 2009 with Ring of Honor where he went on to become a record-breaking first-ever three-time ROH World Champion. Since then, he wrestled for multiple independent promotions including Chikara, Combat Zone Wrestling (CZW), Pro Wrestling Guerrilla (PWG) and also New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW) where he was associated with The Bullet Club stable.
In 2017, Cole signed up with WWE and performed under the NXT brand. He went on to become the leader of The Undisputed Era faction which featured Bobby Fish, Kyle O’Reilly and later Roderick Strong. Apart from Johnny Gargano, Adam Cole is the only wrestler to become the NXT Triple Crown Champion. He also holds the record of the longest-reigning NXT Champion, having held the title for 396 days.
Why did Adam Cole choose to leave WWE?
Cole last wrestled for WWE at the NXT TakeOver 36, before which it had surfaced that his contract was about to expire. However, in order to see his storyline with Kyle O’Reilly through to the end, Cole had requested a short-term extension. So after his contract with WWE ended, he signed a new one with AEW instead, though Vince McMahon had started charting main roster plans for him.
Despite wanting to be a WWE superstar since the age of nine, Adam Cole has commented that shifting to AEW was a fairly easy decision to make. He had seen the way AEW’s crew worked while he was supporting his partner Britt Baker; and wanted to work with people he loved being around all the time and people who were just as passionate about pro-wrestling as he was.
