Play went on at the other end of the court, but when it came back to the cheerleaders from Mississippi Valley State, the same cheerleader walked onto the court after a whistle and pushed Smith.
As the broadcast team explained what happened, the game was then stopped, security was called, and at least seven people walked across the court to the cheerleader. She grabbed a jacket and was led off the court.

Cheerleaders’ roles at sporting events have been talked about for a long time. Cheerleaders are often seen as representatives of the teams they cheer for because they show the fans’ spirit and excitement. But they are also expected to act in a professional way and follow certain rules, both on and off the field.
This is not the first time a cheerleader has gotten into a fight at a sporting event. In the past few years, there have been a number of similar events that got a lot of attention from the media. These events have caused people to talk about what cheerleaders can do to keep good sportsmanship. And follow the rules of the game.
Representatives from MVSU and Alabama A&M haven’t said anything official about the situation yet. And it’s not clear how it will be handled.
How did the MVSU-Alabama A&M game go?
Even after the cheerleader was kicked out, things didn’t calm down. In the end, Alabama State won 70-68 on a last-second shot. With five seconds left, junior guard Messiah Thompson dribbled at the top of the key. Then dribbled to the right and made a last-second shot as he moved away from the basket.

Alabama A&M’s record went from 10-15 to 6-6 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference after the win. Mississippi State’s record fell to 3-23, and they now have a 2-10 conference record. With less than a month until the conference tournament, they missed a chance to pull off an upset.
That was the last time the two teams played each other during the regular season. On Jan. 4, Alabama A&M beat Mississippi State by a score of 75-68.
