Prior to their match against Aston Villa on Sunday, Manchester City fans shouted down the Premier League anthem after the league filed numerous complaints against the team with the we’ll cheat when we want chant now viral
Man City has been hit by numerous mis-conducts.
The current Premier League champions City have been slammed with numerous allegations and are being held accountable for more than 100 violations that occurred between 2009 and 2018. The club will not be able to appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, which allowed them to avoid a ban after prior UEFA allegations, but an independent committee will make the final decision.

Several of City’s league opponents have reportedly expressed a desire to see the team dropped from the Premier League if the claims are proven to be true. The team might be penalised with fines, point deductions, or possibly ejection from the Premier League.
City has welcomed any probes.
After a uproar in football world, City released a statement of its own, promising to deploy certain proof to put the subject to rest once and for all. Prior to having their two-year suspension from participating in European tournaments overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport in 2020, the club was previously punished by UEFA for committing severe violations of FFP laws between 2012 and 2016.
To argue their lawsuit against the Premier League, City has retained Lord Pannick KC, the same attorney who prevailed at CAS in 2020. It is a case that will probably drag on for a while before any conclusive decisions are made.
Pep Guardiola got furious while addressing the issues.
A visibly irritated Guardiola addressed the fresh claims in his press conference on Friday, claiming that the other 19 Premier League teams had made them. Despite being assumed guilty, he claimed he is confident City will be found not guilty.
He stated that his initial impression is that the club have already been condemned. There have been 19 Premier League teams that are making accusations against them without giving any chance to respond in the name of the club, owner, chairman, or workers. It seems like Guardiola is firm with his stances that City are innocent in this matter. However, only time will reveal who has done what. Till then let’s enjoy the drama.
