Ferland Mendy Injury Update: When Will The Real Madrid Man Return From Injury In La Liga 2021/22

The Frenchmen played a huge role last season for Real Madrid. However, he failed to guide the team to a trophy as Real ended the campaign trophyless. Mendy found a permanent place in the squad after Marcelo lost his touch. Mendy appeared in 38 games for Real Madrid in all the competitions.

It seemed clear that Zidane preferred the French star over Marcelo and he proved his decision right. Mendy played a total of 2200 minutes in La Liga and 900 minutes in the Champions League.

This season with the change in manager and new arrivals, he needs to perform well in order to get his place back. In his absence, the new manager started David Alaba for the first two matches. However, in the last match against Real Betis, youngster Miguel Gutiérrez was given a chance. Also, Ancelotti has other options like Nacho and Marcelo.

Possible Return Date

Mendy was found training along with Toni Kroos and other teammates in the camp. Most of these players were not called for the International duty and were injured. Earlier this day, Mendy was found training on the ground along with Modric and Kroos and Nacho.

So, we can expect his return once the international break is over. However, it will be difficult to say that he will be in the starting lineup as Nacho and Militao has impressed in the centre which means Alaba is fixed on the left for now.
