Three dead bodies were found in a home in Cincinnati by police of Darlene Flores and her sons
This was the second time in a year that a murder-suicide happened in the same family.
In this case of a double homicide and an apparent suicide, the Hamilton County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Darlene Flores, 38, and her 16-year-old son Rodrigo Johnson were killed, and that her 19-year-old son Eric Johnson Jr. committed suicide.
Friday, after responding to a 911 call at a home and finding three unresponsive victims, each with a gunshot wound, the department posted on its official social media account.

According to news stories, Darlene’s ex-husband killed their daughter and then killed himself six months ago. A family member set up a GoFundMe account to raise money for the funerals and explain how the terrible thing happened.

Robert Davis, who was close to the family, also felt sad about the deaths. Eric Johnson, who was 40 years old at the time, was asked to give his 6-year-old daughter Lyla back to her mother in August 2022. This was done to settle a custody dispute. The Cincinnati Enquirer says that after an hour-long standoff, the police found Eric and Lyla dead from gunshot wounds.
Cincinnati police say that the man who they think killed his mother and brother before killing himself in Avondale on Friday morning also killed an 18-year-old in December 2020.
Johnson could not bear the loss of his younger sister
Eric Johnson Jr., his mother Darlene Flores, 38, and his brother Rodrigo Johnson, 16, were all found dead in their home on Canyon Drive. Two men who said they were Johnson’s best friends said he called them around 5 a.m. to tell them he loved them and was sorry.
His friends said that Johnson was sad because his father killed his 6-year-old sister and then killed himself in August 2022.
The homicide unit of the Cincinnati police said on Monday that Johnson was also responsible for the death of 18-year-old Serreno Foster Jr., who was shot and killed on Canyon Drive more than two years ago. On Dec. 12, 2020, someone called the police to report that someone in a car was not responding. When they got there, Foster was dead in his car, which was still running.
Since Foster’s death, his family has been fighting for answers and asking for someone to come forward while police have been looking into the case. A suicide note helped the CPD finally connect Johnson to the murder.
