According to the Florida legal firm Lasnetski Gihon, those convicted of aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer in the state face anywhere from three to fifteen years in prison, as reported by Newsweek. Whether you are found guilty at trial or enter a guilty plea, the judge must impose at least the minimum obligatory sentence for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Firefighter, etc.

The judge also has no discretion to impose a sentence that is less than the obligatory minimum. Only the prosecutor is prohibited from settling for less than what is legally required.
