At the BetVictor German Masters in Berlin, Robert Milkins has had a spectacular journey to his first Tempodrom semi-final, making 146 & 147 breaks along the road. This evening, Milkins defeated Chris Wakelin 5-2 to complete the journey. After scoring the maximum break in second-frame to tie the score at 1-1, Milkins bagged three consecutive frames to make it 4-1 thanks to runs of 60 & 65. Wakelin ably answered with a superb break of 116 to make it 4-2. However, Gloucester’s Milkins crossed the finish line with 86 in the seventh to win 5-2.
In the meantime, Carter beat China’s Pang Junxu 5-3 to secure his position in the final four. For winning this evening, Carter smashed home breaks of 61, 122, 111, 50, & 80. Following his win, Carter will now face Milkins in the first semi-final of Saturday. After a dominant 5-2 victory over German Masters champion Kyren Wilson, Tom Ford qualified for the ninth ranking semi-final of his career. Lisowski, who is similarly determined to win his first championship, defeated Xiao Guodong 5-3 to clinch a spot in the semifinal.
