On Thursday, January 26, 2023, the California police officers fatally shot a double amputee after he tried to evade arrest by getting out of his wheelchair, know the age and family of Anthony Lowe Jr
As per a report by the New York Post, the authorities have roughly fired a total of 10 rounds at a 36-year-old whose family revealed that he lost his legs in another encounter with police in Texas.
The Huntington Park Police Department revealed in statement that they were called at the scene after the deceased who is identified as Anthony Lowe Jr., had stabbed someone without provocation.

Police in California's Huntington Park say they were fearful for their lives, killing Anthony Lowe Jr with 8 bullets.
Lowe was a double amputee fleeing away from them, without his wheelchair.
He lost both his legs after a previous attack by Texas cops.

As per a report by DailyMail, the father of the two’s family had described the incident as “murder.” Lowe, who tried to run away from the cops, has leaped from his wheelchair and moved on his stumps after he was first tased.
The cops reached the scene after the arrival of a third officer, and reportedly fired multiple shots at Lowe’s upper torso. Later, he was handcuffed after he was lying on the ground.
As of now the identity of the alleged stabbed person remains unclear. Lowe was pronounced dead at the scene and the identities of the three police officials involved in the incident remains unknown.
At the time of writing this article, no disciplinary action has been taken officially against the three officers who are now placed off duty “for a few days.”
The incident involving the police officer shooting Lowe Jr comes days after 5 Memphis police officers were fired for beating Tyre Nichols to death.
On Sunday, January 29, in a press release, mother of Lowe Jr, Dorothy Lowe, stated that her child was murdered in a “wheelchair with no legs.”
She further added that, “They do need to do something about it.” As per a report by the Los Angeles Times, Lowe was living with his mother after the recent altercation which made him lose his lower half.
Meanwhile, Lowe’s sister, Yatoya Toy, stated in an earlier conversation that “This is a man, a father, a son, and a brother who was gunned down by the police.”
The family is presently demanding the answers from the police department about their son’s shooting, who earlier revealed that the cop fired at him as he was afraid the suspect would throw the knife at him.
The Huntington Park Police officers wasn’t wearing any bodycams and authorities stated that they don’t yet intend to release the additional footage from nearby surveillance cameras.
