Just last year, Zac Taylor led the Bengals to their first Super Bowl appearance since back in 1988. This year, they are set to face the Kansas City Chiefs for the AFC Championship Game at the Arrowhead Stadium.
Zac Taylor and Sarah Sherman relationship history
Zac Taylor first met his wife 39 year old Sarah Sherman in 2005, when they were both studying at the University of Nebraska and aged 22. Back then, Taylor was the starting quarterback for the Nebraska Cornhuskers while Sarah was pursuing a master’s degree in marketing and journalism.
Taylor shared about their first meeting by saying:
I remember the first time I saw her, We were practicing on our soccer field at Nebraska. When practice ended, there was a girl in a yellow dress. She looked so much more mature, I figured she was probably 30 years old. I’m only 22.
Sarah , on the other hand, revealed that she was impressed by Taylor’s sportiness and physique. She shared:
I honestly thought, ‘Oh my gosh, what a hunk!’”
Marriage
Zac Taylor and Sarah Sherman got married in 2008 while they were both working at Texas A&M University. The couple have stayed together ever since then.
Children
Zac Taylor and his wife Sarah Sherman together have four children together, two sons, and two daughters. Their two sons are named Brooks and Luke, while their daughters are named Emma and Milly. Since Zac is often working with the Bengals, Sarah looks after the children at their home located in Cincinnati.
A history of football fanatics
Sarah reportedly comes from a history of football enthusiasts. Her father, Mike Sherman, previously served as the head coach for the Green Bay Packers from 2000 to 2005. He then worked as the head coach at Texas A&M University as well from 2008 to 2011.
Zac has worked along with his father-in-law on several occasions in the past. When Mike took up his head coach role at Texas in 2008, Zac joined his coaching staff. The duo also worked together with the Dolphins.
In one incident, Zac recalled his first meet with Mike, while admitting that he got intimidated. He shared:
The first time I met [Mike], he was upstairs in his house. He has his XOS coaches film set up there. I was as intimidated as can be. I figured, I can impress him by watching film with him.”
A big fan of the Bengals
Sarah is her husband’s biggest supporter and now a big fan of the Bengals. She reportedly even has a ‘Bengals closet’, which is dedicated to all the pieces she previously wore or will wear at future games and events.
