Recap Of The Last Of Us Season 3

Episode 3 of The Last Of Us, titled ‘Long, Long Time’, began with a brief catch-up with Joel and Ellie, who are adjusting to their new dynamic and dealing with the effects of Tess’s death.

A horrific mass burial that the two discover triggers a flashback to the outbreak’s early days when FEDRA soldiers are seen removing citizens from their homes.

Bill, a survivalist who believes in conspiracies, is watching from the safety of his underground bunker, and he proceeds to turn his deserted town into a fortress, erecting walls and setting traps to ward off any stray infected or curious invaders.

Bill And Franks Love Story

It wasn’t until a man named Frank stumbled into one of Bill’s traps that the two began a heartfelt love story.

Despite Bill’s initial suspicion of the newcomer, they grew closer and ended up being the perfect couple. Bill provided the protection with his defences and Frank assisted in improving the run-down neighbourhood and reaching out to Joel and Tess to start their mutually advantageous smuggling arrangement.

Bill is left to care for Frank after he becomes ill in the present day of 2023.

One morning, Frank says he wants today to be his last day and that he has prepared the ideal farewell, which will entail getting married and eating supper together before calling it quits.

Bill fills each of their wine glasses with enough tablets to “kill a horse” because he decides he can’t go on without Frank and they both pass away at the same time.

In The Last Of Us Game, Was Bill Gay?

Yes, Bill’s sexual orientation is verified in the video game The Last Of Us.

There are enough hints to support his sexuality, albeit it isn’t as explicitly stated as it is in the series.

In the game, Bill refers to Frank as his partner and talks about the two of them as if they were an old married couple who frequently quarrelled. Ellie admits that she stole an adult-themed magazine with pictures of guys from Bill’s hiding place after Joel and Ellie leave the town.

This was not a novel idea that Bill was gay, it’s in the game, Craig Mazin said in an interview for The Last Of Us podcast.

Bill Died In The Game, Right?

In the video game The Last Of Us, Bill does not die. He is still around to welcome Joel and Ellie when they arrive in his town. However, he is exceedingly grouchy and not particularly happy to see them.

The group retreats into a house where they discover Frank’s dead; he committed suicide after being bitten to guarantee that he wouldn’t transform. Earlier, they had fought off a horde of Infected in the neighbourhood school.

While their relationship in the series endures and they go out together, in the game they had a falling out over their opposing worldviews, to the point where Frank wished to permanently leave Bill’s town.

Prior to being bitten by an Infected, he had gathered some of Bill’s belongings, including a vehicle battery, and was getting ready to leave.

Frank’s figure is immediately recognised by Bill as being that of his partner, and he remarks, “He’s the only moron who would wear a shirt like that.”

After helping Joel and Ellie start the truck, Bill is still alive when the scene closes. Even after Joel tries to comfort Bill over Frank’s death, a resentful Bill sends the two on their way.
