For those who are unfamiliar with Vinod, let us tell you, the elder brother of the founder of Adani group, is a Dubai-based businessman.
As per the India’s Rich list 2022 which was released by IIFL Wealth Hurun, Vinod became the richest NRI and 6th richest Indian man with a wealth of Rs. 1,69,000 crore. The list was released on Thursday, September 22, 2022.
The list which was released on Thursday stated that Vinod Adani’s wealth increased 9.5 times in the last 5 years whereas Gautam Adani and his family grew their wealth 15.4 times in 5 years.
He was also named in the Panama and Pandora papers in 2016 and 2021 respectively. As per several reports, Vindo moved up ranking from 49th to 6th this year.
He had made as much as Rs. 102 crore on a daily basis. In absolute terms, he is also the 4th biggest gainer on a year-on-year basis.
According to the Hindenburg Research report, Vinod Adani manages a vast labyrinth of offshore shell companies.
Vinod started his career back in 1976 with power looms in Bhiwandi, Mumbai. From there, he expanded his business of commodities in the international market after he opened an office in Singapore.
Eventually he himself shifted to the country to operate the trading and later ended up moving to Dubai, which is his present base, where he started a business in sugar, oil, aluminium, copper and iron scrap.
