On January 28, the main event at YouTube Theater featured Alexis Rocha versus the 38-year-old underdog George Ahie and although the underdog showed moments of brilliance, he was no match for the 25-year-old youngster. By winning this fight, Rocha has bagged himself prize money of $300,000 as confirmed purse, while George Ashie will return home with rewards of only $35,000.
Throughout the fight, Ashie displayed his agility to catch Rocha quite often with his counterattacks but, the punches by Rocha rained down on his opponent. Owing to this scenario, Ashie was on the backfoot whole time before dropping to the canvas in the seventh-round and suffering KO defeat. Following his win, Rocha expressed his desire to face-off against welterweight star Terence Crawford even though, experts claim that the youngster isn’t ready for such a big fight.

From the first round, Rocha aggressively aimed punches at Ashie’s body, but the Ghanaian held his ground to deflected the blows he could, and counterpunched with shots of his own. When Rocha hit Ashie with a right hand at the conclusion of Round-3, he put the smaller fighter in his place. However, Ashie returned to his feet and continued to trade blows for the last 10 seconds of the third-round.
Despite Rocha’s punches being more heavier and the younger guy being able to hold Ashie in a corner for the majority of Round-5, the two continued to exchange powerful blows. In the sixth-round Rocha received stern warning by the referee after he was accused of low-blow attempt and his round got worse, as he suffered a cut over his eye after an unfortunate clash of head. Many young sluggers would be discouraged after such a round, but in the seventh-round, Rocha increased his pressure and punch output before sending Ashie to the ground with yet another right hook.
